Waku Waku

I’ve visited this place on a Saturday evening and there was a few people lining up by the front door. The food was great and we really get to experience the Japanese taste. The curry with meatball is rich in flavor and the salmon rice bowl is so good with the sauce.

Very yummy Signature Soup Curry. Just be warned it has a strong aniseed flavour, so if you don’t like that then you may not enjoy. Great service with a smile and atmosphere of a cute little Japanese cafe.

It was so delicious and they have calm mood! I like that atmosphere and their mascot was very adorable :) All staffs r so kind, it’s not plenty amount though. But I’d like to wanna go again. I tried just one food. Thank u for their kindness

I never thought I'd eat somewhere where everything on the menu is a must try but after dining here at, I can confirm everything is a must try! The line is a long for good reason. From their famous hokkaido soup curry to the octopus karaage, it's elite comfort food and I honestly loved every bite. Daring to be different and ordering the tomato soup curry base, instead of the traditional, I was impressed with its rich flavour and thought it paired really well with the beef sukiyaki. With endless Hokkaido combinations, I could easily come back on the daily for this dish. The slow cooked wagyu don was just as insanely good - the meat was so tender, it melted in my mouth and who doesn't love anything with a onsen egg?! But what was a random last minute addition and absolutely a must order was the Waku Waku special maze udon with its twisted take on classic udon noodles. It was as much of a colourful explosion as it was great tasting! It had perfectly seasoned minced pork, another creamy onsen egg and a peanut umami flavouring that I can't describe other than saying "wow" and "OMG" between bites. Even the miso and potato salad couldn't be faulted. For such a small Izakaya style Japanese cafe with a line down the street, you don't feel like you're waiting long nor do you feel rushed once seated. The staff are attentive and for such a varied menu, the service is quick. I will definitely be eating here on the regular, I just can't believe I hadn't discovered this secret gem sooner!!

The serving duration is very fast and the foods was amazing. It was very comforting. I will definitely come back in the next meeting 😁

The food was pretty good, I got the tonkatsu and it was very crispy! But the egg was too sweet for me 6.5/10 The curry was also pretty fragrant and the chicken was tender 7/10 The Unagi had some bones in it but was overall good as well 5/10

The soup curry was amazing, very similar to the ones I've tasted in Hokkaido. The chicken thigh is super tender, can easily pull of the meat from the bone with just a pair of chopstick. Will come back for more.

Finally get to try this restaurant. It is small, crowded and always have quite a long queue.If you plan to try this, better go at an earlier time, we went there on a weekday 6pm and there’s a bit of a queue but a bit fast. we were welcomed and assisted by their friendly staffs, who were very quick and the food were served fast. the turnover of people here is quite fast too so no time for chitchats. price wise is reasonable given the huge portion and the quality of food.

I ordered the menu no.18. The vegetable tempura was freshly fried and the curry I chose was creamy coconut soup curry. The curry texture was literally like a soup and the vegetable inside curry was very fresh and nice!!

Excellent little Japanese restaurant. One of few restaurants where everything on the menu looks good. I ordered the signature curry soup with charcoal chicken leg and rice. The curry soup is not as rich as the ones you get in Hokkaido but I actually prefer this. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. The store however is small so I would recommend getting here early to avoid the wait.
